What's considered the input item lvl? Not the required lvl is it?

For some reason I can't get this to work… What are the requirements to craft in this fashion?
I used to have a permed Storm Circlet back in the day a friend gave to me when he quit. I used to buy tons of craft packages on D2jsp in like 08 and try to flip. Got a few good ones, but nothing crazy. This was always one of my favorite aspects of the game. Very underutilized imho.

I actually just started getting into blood/caster item crafting & its so fun to do. Made some stuff for a low level zealer dueler. Well, mainly gloves & a ring. But definitely a fun thing to do, instead of just selling the pgems/jewels. But like someone mentioned, if you play online keep the 40% ed 15% IAS jewels.
i crafted anice belt with fhr and had 10 hrs for it on bn
Imo crafting was one of the best things about D2.You could craft GODLY Blood rings,Blood Gloves,caster amulets and my favorite was rolling Gc's into +life skillers to make mad currency 🙂 D3 failed because the crafting system was and is garbage
Ur an idiot for using unid jewels. Some of them could be very good like 40/15 or 15/15 etc.
why use unid jewels?…why not spend a few min to Id them first in case u get a good ed/ias or resis or somit?
