Quick noob question, I'm almost at the end of act V pretty close to kill the last boss, is it possible to go do this, and then just jump again to the last quest?

Level 67 here. Upon completing the quest, and entering the sewers I received no bonus XP.
To anyone interested — there is actually a faster leveling method using 3/3 Wretched Mothers in Act 1 where you kill 2 mothers on normal, relog and remake a T6 and then lead it into town. Just now finished 60-70 in 70min like that.
