SO MUCH HEALING!! Even Nozari Got Into Highlander Control Paladin! | Ashes of Outland | Hearthstone

I’ve been desperately trying to make a good Control Paladin list for ages, but it never seems to stick. Even this one is merely *okay* and is more of a fun diversion or quest-completer than a great ladder deck, and I had to use the Highlander package to even get it that far! That said, it is a glorious playstyle when it works, and a super fun deck to play.

Decklist: https://outof.cards/hearthstone/decks/15750-highlander-control-paladin
Deck Level: Solid

As you can see above, I’m implementing a new «Deck Level» descriptor to help people make better crafting decisions. It ranks decks in the following ways:

1. Guaranteed — This is a proven list backed by lots of data (within its time range).
2. Powerful — This is a list that’s been played to high Legend or had a great winrate for us, but doesn’t have enough data to ensure its success.
3. Hopeful — This is a list that needs more time to be sure, but looks promising as a viable ladder deck.
4. Solid — This is a list that can certainly win games and help you complete daily quests, but has a middling winrate and would be tough to climb with.
5. Fun — This is a list that’s all about having fun, but may be tough to find wins consistently.
6. Meme — This deck is pure garbage, and wins will be rare, but they’ll be ridiculous guaranteed!

  1. Hey folks, check out the description. I'm gonna start implementing a sorta… deck power level rating to help people make good decisions about decks. Do you think the way I have it broken down here is helpful?

    1. Guaranteed — This is a proven list backed by lots of data (within its time range).

    2. Powerful — This is a list that's been played to high Legend or had a great winrate for us, but doesn't have enough data to ensure its success.

    3. Hopeful — This is a list that needs more time to be sure, but looks promising as a viable ladder deck.

    4. Solid — This is a list that can certainly win games and help you complete daily quests, but has a middling winrate and would be tough to climb with.

    5. Fun — This is a list that's all about having fun, but may be tough to find wins consistently.

    6. Meme — This deck is pure garbage, and wins will be rare, but they'll be ridiculous guaranteed!

A lot of people want to see raw winrates, but that's just such an irresponsible way to guide people, because we need 500-1000 games to use data correctly, and that's just not possible when we're testing crazy ideas. I sometimes have 100% winrates with decks over small sample sizes, but I'm sure as heck not gonna tell you that. I think this provides a more qualitative way to keep crafting in check without falling victim to variance on both the good and bad side of things.

  2. Game 1: DQ Alex wins Regis the game (Scalelord, Deathwing)
Game 2: DQ Alex wins the opponent the game (Ysera Unleashed, Netherwing)
Game 3: DQ Alex wins Regis the game (Malygos Aspect, Murozond), though opponent pinged and Arcane Breath'd a 2/2, and Pyroblasted with a known Spellbender up.

Hmm, do I see a pattern?

  3. 28:39 Because of alot of arena matches, would wonder if Zeph would have given living dragonbreath for lethal by unfreezing the board.

Edit: oh, brought up by twitch chat. Yeah, unfreezes already frozen indeed

  4. Oh man that Mage player isn't gonna rank up like that. They would have to go to farm wins with secret mage in WILD, not STANDARD!

  5. Hey Regis. Very cool deck, and I appreciate the deck rating system. Any tips for getting out of a losing streak? I fell from Plat 1-4 this weekend.

  6. This deck has no game. Paladin decks need sticky cards and then boost attack so that every time you hit the button that’s a potential 5/5 problem next turn, in addition to whatever is sticking to the table. Oooh Zephrys is stupid overpowered! Let’s just play those cards. How about a good reason to play Zephrys, a way to buff the effectiveness of other cards, rather than it’s just what the 4 or 5 “cool” people who are the only ones making decks told me to run. This deck has no game.

  7. 10:57 holy cow, I played against that guy ww123 last night and he was playing that exact deck. He just barely beat me though. That's crazyyyy. Small world

  8. You mentioned playing Runeterra, is there a possibility of you putting highlights of that on your youtube? I love your content but I stopped playing Hearthstone a while ago for a number of reasons but would love to see some Runeterra content if you're already playing it. <3

  9. Question: Why the Frozen Shadowweaver over Mayew? She gets rid of a minion for twice as long and can even disable taunts. Plus, that one elemental or a silence can unfreeze minions, but they cannot be un-dormanted.

  10. Zepyrs is definetly not perfect yet, last time I played him I wanted a Mass Dispell at 4 Mana, but it didn’t give me that option, even though I would be able to go face and threaten leathal the turn after… Disn’t even give my polymorph for that 1 Deathrattle Taunt minion either
