  1. UPDATE: My Diablo 2 days ended before patch 1.14; I played a significant amount of D2, but I believe it was back when 1 skill point = 1 skeleton. During my research, I learned of the cap they added to the skill point system; what I didn't realize was that items could take you above the 8 skele cap. Sorry. That makes Diablo 2 win in the pet build department.

  2. Ummm. 8 skeletons in Diablo 2? Yeah… maybe… running around naked. Necro's had tuns of +skill items to choose from. I give that win to D2.

Golems. I loved D2 golems and the lore of necromancers in general. Did I say necromancers? I meant Priests of Rathma. That was the why you could make clay or fire or metal come to life. The manipulation of life force to new levels past necromancy's limit of dead flesh. I love the backstory of necromancers Diablo gave them. The evil dark magic users in every other game was pretty stale. Now behold the keepers of the balance. Incorruptible  by the prime evils… the Priest of Rathma. D2 ftw.

Mages. D3 not using corpses or living until killed make me sad. D2 an obvious winner.

Revives. While I loved being able to pick and choose my revives the area effect of D3 is just way too convenient. D3 finally Scores.

Bone Armor. I didn't use this skill much in Diablo 2 or 3 for that matter but as cool as swirling bones is and all I'm gonna go with D3 on this one but purely on aesthetics.

After that I'm just gonna agree with everything else. Mostly because I loved Skelemancers. I tried a few other builds but just couldn't get into them.

With all this said I knew the D3 necro had to be different. The games are just built differently. End result I like what they did. Bravo! I thought it would be impossible to be honest to be a necro in D3. The dev team definitely rose to the challenge and boy what a challenge it was.  It couldn't have been easy. People still compare necromancers in other games to Diablo 2 necro. Looking for something similar and that is why I would give the overall win to Diablo 2.

Edit: Damn… Probably should of read you pinned comment before posting that first part. Next time! lol

  3. I'd love to watch the video, but the fucking ads keep freezing the last two dozen times I've tried clicking. Literally all the recommended videos worked just fine, so no idea why this one is having such insane issues

  4. it hurts my brain that he didn't show the skills he was talking about, but just a picture of the skill text >.<

  5. Dude… Diablo 3 has batter graphics, the game is a piece of shit, the necromancer is a piece of shit, stop embarrassing yourself.

  6. Diablo 2 is the better game in every aspect. I played it at least for 1000 hours…Diablo 3 maybe 150h.

  7. Bananas and Oranges

Nec from D2 was awesome, I liked so that I could type talking to people instead of clicking so much…

man sorry… D3 sucks, its another atmosphere, simply a different world, its arcade like, kids play

D2 by its time was horror, the atmosphere was more dense, more serious

  8. the diablo 2 golems dident make a lot of sense except for blood golem, but iron and clay golems has nothing to do with Necromancy..if it dosent fit in necromancey it dosent fit the class, was a good call not to have them back…

  9. In diablo 2 you can have a golem and skeletons and mages together while d3 had skeletons or a golem you cant have both in d2 you can!

  10. D3 expansion killed the opportunity to make viable meta builds…..you get shitload of setbonus…..and you cant make viable gr 100 solo corpse explosion or blood nova build…funny aint it? D2 is still better in that way.

  11. D3 sucks and D2 is way better. Get over it. The way you say "golem" is the most annoying thing in the entire history of mankind.

  12. A guy with the voice of captain America explaining diablo necro. Epic.

  13. So if the crusader is the tank version of the warrior what's the difference between witch doctors and necromancers?

  14. The skeletons in Diablo II could run the endgame by themselves with enough + to skills. The Corpse Explosion + Raise Skeletons build was probably the best "fresh" or ungeared character in the game. D2 mages were pretty useless, they did too little damage to matter.

The D2 Clay Golem has a slow aura that was incredibly useful, I think the golems are pretty even honestly. That ice golem freeze is nice.

However, active pet builds don't really work in D3 outside of sentries. I miss that about D2

  15. Damn.. came to see how cool the necro was just to realize he is automated too.

  16. Look man, the appeal for the Necromancer for a lot of people was that you could rely on minions/pets almost exclusively.

That is a playstyle that hasn't been replicated and while I haven't yet played the D3 necromancer, it doesn't look like it has replicated that feeling either.

The fact that the Necramncer has a huge army in the mid to late game contributes for sure. But I only played a bit of the original, modded at that and I preferred the later version.
Because LoD necromancer can easily have 11 skeletons and skeleton mages, golem, hireling and a dozen revives.
In the late game you would have a fucking army and you'd grind the demonic hordes in attritional warfare.

  17. My old computer couldn't handle Diablo 3 after I bought it, so when I recently got a new computer, I watched this to see if it was worth buying the Reaper of Souls and Necromancer updates. I exclusively played Necromancer in Diablo 2, and when my old computer was brand new, I played Witch Doctor a bit. I liked it, but missed the large armies of D2, so I tried going back to that; as this video says, I was disappointed to find out that I couldn't have the 100+ armies, and they had nerfed D2. I then returned to D3, and played Witch Doctor, until I got tired of how laggy and crappily my computer was performing. Now that I have this new computer, I think I will buy Reaper of Souls and the Necromancer packs, since although the Witch Doctor was cool, I miss the Necromancer and want to give this new one a try. It seems like this review, and a few others, recommend it as really fun to play. Thanks for the video; it helped convince me to spend the 35 bucks.

  18. I remember playing necro on d2 i made 40 skeleton 40 mage 😂 plus revive and golem what an army 😂😂

  19. It would be great to see similar material about all classes based on sorceress, druid and barbarian (maybe monk and another class if it will be at D4) . It would be great to see also full lore about classes. And is should be based about all games from D1 to D4 and (at lore version) Di and HotS. It would be fun to see also cross class videos like sorceress+wizzard or warrior+paladin+crusader+templar (i hope that templar would be playable at D4, becouse for me it have the biggest lore sense).

Thanks for video and i hope that you will like this simple idea.

  20. I just don’t see how necromancer is still 15$ after all these years the new edition is 50$ I have the ROS UEE so don’t need it, I’m getting necro later this evening.

  21. Did they change the game since you've made this video. It's making me choose between golem and skeletons. Am I missing something?
