The boss from Diablo 2 act 1 was actually meant to be included in Diablo 1 as a special quest boss. The quest never made it into the final version of the game, but thanks to the Belzebub mod the quest has been faithfully recreated.

Feels bad man.
demons who take the form of beautiful women… but those exist though!
Looking back at the game, I find it very easy to believe that there were locations aside from beneath the church that they contemplated deploying into the game.
